Heart Within the Art, LLC is a New Rochelle-based business featuring
Afrocentric Fine Art Originals by Jan Smith Castronuovo, consisting primarily of mixed media collage, wood sculpture, drawings and paintings. My work has been shown in galleries and museums across the country, but more recently in personal venues such as community centers and street fairs where I sell prints, posters, t-shirts and tote bags of my original designs and small paintings and sculpture. I also offer self-published book consultations, illustrations, type design/layout, and logo designs for clients.

My newest products include uniquely hand-crafted "Jumping Brooms" which serve as symbols used in historically African and traditional African American wedding ceremonies, creating family legacies for generations to come. These brooms are works of art that can be used in the actual wedding ceremony and/or framed as keepsakes to hang on the wall as part of your Afrocentric home decor.
